After-School & Clubs

Students' activities are provided to enrich students’ experience, giving opportunities to develop new skills outside the regular classroom. After-school programs vary each quarter and are very flexible depending on student and teacher desires.

After-School Programs

    Chinese Language for Newcomers

    Incoming new students who are having a struggle with learning the Chinese language during regular class hours can take this class to catch up with peers.

    Science Games

    Students learn the basic strategies of online games and compete with one another. They also test their knowledge and skills in an interactive online game activities by solving challenges to earn points.

    Model United Nations (MUN)

    Students assume the role of nations while learning leadership and negotiation skills by discussing and debating world issues and topics.

    Reading and Reviewing

    Students learn how to appreciate reading through their own curiosity and interests in various genres and books.

    Soccer

    Coach Batar has taught outdoor sports for many years. Students focus on learning proper playing techniques to enhance their tactical knowledge of the beautiful game.

    Arts & Crafts

    Students experience exciting crafts while building their self-esteem. They learn basic craft skills with materials such as ribbon, Hanji (Korean traditional paper), cloisonne, and much more.

    Board Games

    Students who like playing board and card games can play games they enjoy or learn new ones. Games are provided, but students can bring their own too. Monopoly, Jenga, and Uno are some of the games available.

    Beginning Band

    Students learn to develop their skills as instruments players and as ensemble members. Any of the students who enjoy playing non-stringed instruments and want to play as a team with others should join Beginning Band.

    Homework Club

    Students who are struggling with completing homework can do their tasks with teachers’ assistance.

    Special Class for Math

    Students who need extra support to catch up with their current regular math classes should take this extra supportive class taught by Korean teachers.

    Special Class for ESL

    Students who need extra support to catch up with their current regular English classes should take this extra supportive class taught by Korean teachers.

    Be a Young Filmmaker

    Students learn how to write scripts, develop characters, and direct short films. They learn the basics of shooting with good composition, how to edit footage, and how to incorporate special effects.

    Realistic Sketching

    Realistic Sketching aims to develop sketching skills with the use of pencils. Pieces are focused on realism, such as portraits of people, animals, or nature. Students also learn how to use grid drawing to design realistic artwork.

    Digital Design

    Students are introduced to the basic graphic design principles of composition, color, and space. Graphic designs are paired with instruction on narrative arc story writing and illustration using digital tablets.

    Pop Dance

    In this advanced dance class, students learn basic movements from various dance styles - jazz, modern dance, musical theater, and hip hop.

    Yoga

    Students learn Yoga from experienced, certificated instructors. The benefits to students of Yoga include increased strength, self-discipline, focus, safety, and self-defense. It is a great form of exercise and fun.

    Traditional Team Sports

    Team sports like soccer, basketball, volleyball, football, softball are probably the most popular sports activities among students. Coach Batar has taught outdoor sports for many years. Students focus on learning proper playing techniques to enhance their tactical knowledge of beautiful games.

    Swimming / Golf / Horse Riding / Rowing

    Students range from beginners submerging for the first time to winning medals in the Olympics. There are several classes offered based on local sports facilities with outside instructors.

    Science Laboratory

    STEM Activities, higher grade students can participate in this activity based on hands-on science experiments to learn about the concepts behind them and to have fun while learning.
