The Academic Program
The BDS elementary program is designed to provide students with an American classroom experience.
Our goal is to provide young learners the opportunity to improve their English language skills with trained American instructors, and to provide the language skills necessary for students to continue with their studies at a higher level. We aim to create independent thinkers and critical problem solvers.
BDS 초등 프로그램은 학생들에게 미국 현지 교육 환경을 제공하기 위해 고안되었습니다.
BDS의 목표는 학생들이 훈련된 영어권 선생님들과의 수업을 통하여 영어 실력을 향상 시키고 더 높은 수준의 공부를 지속하는데 필요한 언어 능력을 제공하고자 합니다. 또한 학생 스스로가 독립적인 주체가 되어 문제 해결을 하기 위한 주도성과 창의성을 기르고 비판적인 사고를 하는 학생으로 성장시키고자 합니다.
Small class sizes allow for personal interaction among teachers, students, and parents.
교사, 학생, 학부모 간의 상호작용을 가능하게 하는 소규모 학급의 환경 입니다. (각 반당 15명 이내)
Child-centered classrooms where students are challenged independently, in small groups, and as a whole class.
소그룹으로 나뉘어 프로젝트를 진행하며, 독릭접이고 주도적인 참여를 이끌어 내는 학생 중심 교실입니다.
Traditional classroom activities in language arts, math, science, social studies, and electives that are supplemented with hands-on experiences.
학생들이 교과 교실들을 직접 이동하며 캠퍼스의 자연환경을 경험하고 자발성과 활동성을 향상 시킵니다.
Enrichment in art, music, Chinese, technology, and physical education.
필수 교과목 외에도 미술, 음악, 중국어, 체육, 선무도 등의 선택 과목과 이벤트의 참여를 통하여 학생의 다양한 경험하고자 합니다.
Our middle school program is designed to carry out BDS’s mission by helping young people in grades 6-8 acquire knowledge and skills through conversation, discovery, and deep understanding.
BDS 중등 프로그램은 6~8학년 학생들이 의사소통 기술을 통하여 학습의 깊은 이해를 통하여 지식을 습득 할 수 있도록 합니다.
BDS strives to inspire a love of learning, self knowledge, and meaningful community membership.
또한, 배움에 대한 사랑, 자기 계발, 그리고 의미 있는 공동체 구성원 자격을 가지고 생활하도록 고안되었습니다.
During the middle school years, students will experience rapid growth intellectually, emotionally, and physically. They gradually take ownership of the learning process, build relationships, and come to appreciate their own individuality as they prepare to take on the challenges of high school.
중학생들은 신체, 지성, 감성 등 전반적으로 빠른 성장을 경험 하게 됩니다. 이에 BDS는 학생들에게 다양한 학습법을 통하여 내면의 성찰과 신체와 정신의 바른 성장을 할 수 있도록 합니다.
Although the middle school academic program is rigorous, our great expectations are fully aligned with the developmental capacities of our young students and fully supported by the close work and passion of our highly trained and experienced faculty.
또한 고등과정 전에 학습의 대한 전반적인 준비와 자신의 성향에 따른 학습법을 만들어나가게 됩니다. 중등 교육 프로그램은 초등과정에 비하여 교칙 및 학습의 기준이 엄격하지만, BDS는 학생들의 발전과 성장을 위하여 고도로 훈련되고 경험이 풍부한 교수진의 긴밀한 노력과 열정에 의해 운영 하고자 합니다.
Because grades 6-8 represent a special period in the life of a child, the members of our faculty are not only discipline area specialists, but relationship specialists. They are adults who have dedicated their professional lives to working with our adolescent children. While teachers work to know students well enough to challenge them to their fullest intellectual potential, our balanced approach allows significant time for training the body and spirit as much as the mind.
중학생 시기의 학생들은 삶에서 특별한 과정을 거치기 때문에 BDS 모든 교직원들은 훈육 분야 전문가일 뿐만 아니라, 청소년들과 함께 일하는데 직업적인 삶을 헌신하고자 하는 전문가들이면서 성숙한 어른입니다. 선생님들이 학생들을 최대한의 지적 잠재력에 도전할 수 있을 만큼 잘 알기 위해 일하는 반면, 우리의 균형 잡힌 접근법은 몸과 정신을 마음만큼 훈련시킬 수 있는 상당한 시간을 제공하고자 합니다.

We believe in data-driven instruction and work to regularly evaluate students so that we can continually enhance each child’s learning path.

The program utilizes formative and summative assessments to track progress; this assists instructors in selecting teaching methodologies and creating individualized pathways of instruction

Students gain different perspectives and experiences concerning classroom learning, study skills, and information processing. These perspectives and experiences allow students to become comfortable in different learning situations

All students will become well-rounded learners, while at the same time, studying and practicing English. Our students will be taught using a variety of American teaching methods and the best academic practice models.
모든 학생들은 영어를 공부하고 연습하면서 다재다능한 학습자가 될 것입니다. 다양한 방법으로, 미국의 교육 방법과 학문적 모범 사례 모델을 사용하여 가르친다.
Our teachers are trained to recognize each student’s individual abilities, skills, and interests and to teach them using strategies that meet those needs.
